Holiday work in my studio brought a massive mess. After the orders and the craft shows, my space is so far gone, It's going to take me quite some time to get it back to working condition.

Right now, as I type this post, I have pots and clumps of wax that didn’t work out as planned (okay, that I got angry with) that are just sitting on the table. They look at me every time I enter my studio. I just pretend they’re not there and move on.

But isn’t it funny how clutter and disorder create more clutter and disorder?

I experimented.

One time I cleaned one side of the studio and left one side messy.

Honestly, as soon as I left the room, my daughter goes in to start on a project. She’s working on the clean side. When I come back, the clean side isn’t clean. Go figure!

It’s the broken window theory.

So today I'm starting a 30 day challenge to taking back my space! Seriously, I have to put a stop to this mess. I'll be posting weekly updates for the next four weeks to show you how I've progressed with turning my space into something I love.

Why is it a challenge? I'm simply not the most organized person (though I aspire to be).

So here's what I'm working with now.


These shelves were moved into my space for stock, but we've been packing and moving the old stock as we get ready to stock the shelves with new goodies.

We use our pots for short orders and our large warmers for producing our stock orders, but I'm looking to completely do away with short orders altogether to make room for a more efficient process.



I have to be honest. I was almost in tears when I went back into my work area (after a bit of a holiday break) and saw this mess. It's a disaster! So I headed straight for Pinterest and started looking at some ideas for fixing this mess.

Well, my friends, I've decided to put myself up to a 30 day challenge to getting my studio in shape. As I do this, I'll be posting pics over the next 30 days to show you the progress as I transform my space from a hot mess to functionally flair, all on a strict budget. This is going to be a real challenge since I'll be simultaneously working on the spring collection, so I'm a bit nervous.
