With only two days left before the launch of the Everything Dawn Bakery Candle Treats spring line, I'm working double time. Some things have come together wonderfully, while others have been really awkward.

Last minute removals.

It's all a part of pulling together something that you'll be happy to release.

With that, I've done absolutely no work in my space. I've just been too busy fine tuning and getting the last minute details together for this project.

There's the children. I promise you that every time I've been engrossed in something there's been a reason for them to pull me away.

So how do I manage 10 children and a Fakery Business?

1. My older help a lot with my younger. It's a rule that we established in our home years ago. The older children helping the younger has helped with responsibility and relationship building over the years.

2. Keep the younger children busy. We have 30 minutes of coloring, playing with blocks, music time, and silent reading (for those who can read). We do these in intervals so that there's no boredom.

3. Incorporate them. Each of my children has a job in the business. My sons help with shipping, cleaning and fake food prep. My older daughters are hands on with making and filling orders. My middle children also help with making and creating while my younger are always standing by learning, boxing, and pretending to do what we all do.

4. Have a quiet time. Have them spend an hour of quiet time, either reading or doing something very quietly in their room. This is a no noise period where the younger children nap and the older are enjoying the quiet.

These small things really help me to get through the day.

I don't have a lot of time to chase them around, so discipline is very important. Having them help me with business teaches them how to work together, how their jobs are important in the bigger picture, and it makes them feel like they're a part of what we do as a family business.

Everyone reaps the rewards when we do well, and everyone comes together with ideas to improve when things aren't going so well.
